  PECC 33rd General Meeting

“Promoting Innovation and Cooperation to Achieve Openness and Prosperity in the Asia Pacific Region”

16 May 2026, Shanghai

Overview

The world today is undergoing accelerated transformation unseen in a century and the new wave of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation is deepening. The Asia-Pacific is the most dynamic part of the global economy while facing growing uncertainties and destabilizing factors in its development. As the host of APEC 2026, China is committed to “Building an Asia-Pacific Community to Prosper Together”, which will be promoted through work under three priorities: Openness, Innovation, Cooperation.

As a champion of regional economic cooperation and a founding partner, PECC has an important role to play in assisting the APEC policy making process by providing intellectual support. In PECC Charter, the objective of PECC is to promote economic cooperation and the idea of a Pacific Community and to work towards its realization, which is perfectly echoed the theme of APEC 2026.

The PECC 33rd General Meeting will create a unique opportunity for PECC members to provide intellectual input into this year’s APEC process and beyond. It is also a good opportunity to look at China’s economic development and its economic policy orientation.
